What does growth and change look like in child-centered play therapy (CCPT)? How do you assess progress or identify barriers to progress in CCPT? What does it mean when the child’s growth looks different in and out of the playroom? How do you know when CCPT is finished? And how do you prepare children and their adults for termination in CCPT?
Explore the answers to these questions and more in this interactive webinar. Participants will learn to identify and understand progress in child-centered play therapy, and support children and families as they prepare for termination by applying person-centered theory, current research, and using case examples to practice assessment and prepare for termination. Participants will learn theoretically grounded strategies for evaluating progress and supporting termination in CCPT.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Describe tenets of person-centered theory relevant to assessing progress in child-centered play therapy.
2. Demonstrate skills to conceptualize and articulate a child’s progress in child-centered play therapy.
3. Identify 3 risk factors for premature termination in CCPT.
4. Describe key considerations for supporting children and parents through termination in CCPT.
Speaker: Dr. Kimberly Jayne, LPC, LMHC, RPT-S, PMH-C is a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapy Supervisor & Trainer, a Certified Child-Parent Relationship Therapy Supervisor and Trainer, and a Certified Child-Centered Group Play Therapy Supervisor and has been a practicing play therapist for over 17 years. Kimberly is a Full Professor at Saybrook University and trains and supervises play therapists nationally and internationally. Kimberly is the Editor of the International Journal of Play Therapy and the director of an on-site, school-based play therapy program for preschool children, families, and teachers. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on child-centered play therapy.
Fees & CEs: This online, live training is $100 for 3.0 Non-Contact CEs.

Participants must be present for the entire workshop to receive CE credits. Full completion of the workshop, the post-test, and a program evaluation is required to receive CE credits.
