This 40-hour program is intended to prepare Child-Centered Play Therapists to become Supervisors and Advanced Clinicians in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT). This program takes place over 8 months and involves educational curriculum instruction as well as direct supervision of CCPT child sessions and CCPT supervision sessions. Participants will learn supervision models and how to apply them in supervision. Participants will learn how to facilitate the growth and development of new play therapists in CCPT and grow in their depth and understanding of the process of CCPT. Each participant will receive supervision on their CCPT sessions and CCPT supervision sessions. Participation is limited to 6 participants.
Prerequisites & Requirements:
Hold CCPT Level I Practitioner credential through UNT Center for Play Therapy OR on track to receive CCPT Level 1 Practitioner credential by October 2026.
In the United States, hold a professional mental health license. In a country outside of the US, hold a mental health advanced degree or equivalent.
Must be able to show video of at least 10 CCPT sessions facilitated by participant.
Must be able to show video of at least 5 Supervision of CCPT sessions facilitated by participant.
The primary language of instruction and supervision is English. Subtitles on videos may be acceptable.
Must complete assigned readings outside of meeting times.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of the program, participants will demonstrate understanding of:
Theoretical frameworks and models of clinical supervision that apply to CCPT.
Roles and relationships related to clinical supervision of CCPT.
Assessment of supervisees’ developmental level and other relevant characteristics.
Evaluation, remediation, and gatekeeping in CCPT supervision.
Legal and ethical issues and responsibilities in CCPT supervision.
Ethical and culturally relevant strategies for conducting CCPT supervision.
Relational dynamics between therapist and child in CCPT.
Process of CCPT, including theme identification, disruption events, and responding to difficult situations.
Respond to challenges in CCPT cases and events.
Trainer:Dr. Kimberly Jayne, LPC, LMHC, RPT-S, PMH-C is a Certified Child-Centered Play Therapy Supervisor & Trainer, a Certified Child-Parent Relationship Therapy Supervisor and Trainer, and a Certified Child-Centered Group Play Therapy Supervisor and has been a practicing play therapist for over 17 years. Kimberly is a Full Professor at Saybrook University and trains and supervises play therapists nationally and internationally. Kimberly is the Editor of the International Journal of Play Therapy and the director of an on-site, school-based play therapy program for preschool children, families, and teachers. She is the author of numerous articles and book chapters on child-centered play therapy.
Fees & CEs: This online and live training program is $2500. Payments can be made in 4 installments (August 20, October 20, January 20, March 20). If paid in full by August 20, you will receive a 10% discount for a total of $2250 for the program.
This fee gets you 40 Non-Contact CE hours. Kimberly Jayne Counseling, LLS is an Approved APT Provider: 18-546. Participants must be present for the entirety of the workshop in order to receive CE credits and full completion of the course. Full completion of the course, the final exam, and a program evaluation are required to receive CE credits.
This course meets the criteria for Supervision Educational Requirement and Supervision of Supervision Requirement for CCPT-Supervisor certification with the UNT Center for Play Therapy. It also meets partial requirements for direct experience supervision for CCPT-Supervisor certification.
This course also meets criteria for 30 hours of clinical supervisor instruction for RPT-S credential and the criteria for CE requirements for RPT-S credential.
Refund and Cancellation Policy: All registrations are final. Refunds are not available. No-shows will not receive a refund or CE credit. Attendees are expected to be present for the entire duration of the training. CEs will be awarded only for full attendance. Kimberly Jayne Counseling, LLC reserves the right to cancel this workshop series due to unforeseen circumstances. If such occurs, Kimberly Jayne Counseling, LLC will attempt to notify registrants prior to the workshop and refund all registration fees. In all instances, the liability of Kimberly Jayne Counseling, LLC is limited to refunding such fees.

Join Dr. Kimberly Jayne for monthly CCPT consultation! Consultation includes discussion of CCPT theory and practice, common challenges in CCPT, and case consultation with an emphasis on case conceptualization. Limited to 5-7 group members.
Cost is $80 per 90-minute session.
